Amsterdammed launch party a huge success!

On Behalf of Barnardo’s and White Hat Rally, we would like to thank everyone that joined us this week at our 2014 “The Rise of the Dark Net” launch event. We had a fantastic evening and have teams signed up already for this year's adventure!

The Rally would not be possible without your participation and support, and we would be delighted if you can join us on 19th September as we go to Europe. Remember, you don’t need to be a petrol head; the event is open to all, in any vehicle!

Please take just 10 minutes now to sign up your team by clicking the registration button on the left or on the home page.

At the launch event we were really pleased to be able to hand over such a large sum of money to Barnardo’s. The final amount of £43,341 was presented by Stephen Khan to Barnardo’s  Director of Fundraising, Allan McLaren. You can read about what your money goes into supporting on our website.

If you were not able to make it along to our launch for any reason, then all the information you could require about the next Rally event, how to register your team, how to make a donation and how you can sponsor is all available on this website.

Start planning your adventure today!

Pirates and Smugglers Bounty

White Hat Rally this year adopted the theme of pirates and smugglers with a stunning long weekend of fun, challenges and driving in Pieces of V8!

The event took place 21-23 June 2013 and was open to anyone and everyone aged 18 or over. Teams required a non-commercial vehicle with four wheels and a sense of humour for the pirates and smugglers fancy dress, and antics to match.

Starting near Exeter and taking in miles of scenic countryside on small windy roads, the route was very challenging and included many of the amazing sights and attractions that Devon has to offer.

We had one of the best weekends you can imagine, and above all we are helping to support the work of Barnardo's through your generous donations. So far we've accumulated a bounty of over £38,000!

Take a look at our blog and see the adventure that unfolded. Join us next year and be part of it...

Pirates About!

Last weekend saw teams jostle for position in this year's White Hat Rally challenge that took place in Devon. Taking Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Dartmoor and Torcross, participants struggled with navigational, physical, mental and driving challenges! As if the endurance challenge posed by the three very long days and nights wasn't enough itself!

Fundraising in aid of Barnardo's has got off to a fantastic start - so far over £32,000 has been raised, and as the teams continue to collect money over the next few weeks the total is sure to rise further. Help vulnerable children by supporting the teams - make a donation today!

Highlights of the event and results will be posted soon, but in the meantime take a look at all the action from the weekend, captured as it happened on our WordPress blog. Join us next year and be part of it!

Chariots on Fire

Our Chariots on Fire event ran from Friday 22 June to Sunday 24 June 2012 and raised over £36,000 for Barnardo's. Starting in Market Harborough and finishing near Milton Keynes you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a short slow drive - it wasn't, we covered a lot of miles inbetween!

The excitement of the three day Chariots on Fire event started on Thursday evening 21 June when teams checked-in and made final preparations, and concluded on the Sunday evening with an ‘Olympic closing ceremony’ where we all enjoyed dinner, medal presentations and a final night of fun together!

This year’s participants looped across the rolling hills and secluded valleys of the East Midlands and surrounding area, the clay vales and open plateaus, the chalk ridges, deep combes, river valleys and marsh lands – truly outstanding!

We stopped off and stayed overnight in some of the finest examples of traditional market towns and historic cities, each with unique characters shaped by hundreds of years of heritage, industry and local customs. Despite the rain we still enjoyed Rutland Water, Lincoln, Grafham Water and Bletchley Park.

But let’s not forget that this was a driving tour, with an Olympic theme! Each team, represented their chosen country, chasing dreams of glory in an array of Olympic themed challenges throughout the event. Some of these challenges were so awesome and took place in such inspiring venues, they had teams sacrificing everything for Gold!

We also had a fantastic afternoon at Manby Motorplex with some challenging driving that included skid car, rally driving, artic HGV lorry, double decker bus and 4x4 offroad action! With a sunny afternoon, great burger van, and so much adrenaline we had an amazing time!

We would like to thank all the teams, their supporters, our sponsors and all the venues that helped to make this event such a success and enabled us to raise so much money to support the work of Barnardo's.
