Royal Garden Party

On Thursday this week White Hat Rally were honoured to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace to commemorate Barnardo's 150^th anniversary.

Courtesy of HM Queen Elizabeth II, as Patron supporting Barnardo's, we were hosted by their president HRH Duchess of Cornwall. In the garden over afternoon tea staff, volunteers, young people and supporters reflected on the millions of children helped by Barnardo's during the past 150 years.

Penny Mallory - Champion Rally Driver

Penny was the first woman in the world to compete in a World Rally Car, and became National Ladies Champion Rally Driver in 1993 before going on to be one of the UK’s top rally drivers.

White Hat Rally is such a unique and exciting weekend. Great for those who love cars, long weekends and raising lots for a fantastic charity.

White Hat Rally have supported Barnardo’s since 2012 and the rally is just getting bigger and better each year, you have to be a part of it!

Penny also worked as a precision stunt driver, playing both ‘Papa and Nicole’ in one of the famous Renault Clio commercials and will be recognised for her work an accomplished TV presenter for motoring and motor sport.

Having our collar felt at the ball by PC Stamp

On Friday evening many of our White Hat Ralliers attended the White Hat Ball, helping the 650 strong crowd to raise over £125k in aid of ChildLine!

A fantastic night was had by all, and two of our tables were delighted to host the Chairman of the Ball, Gerry O'Neill, and the celebrity host for the evening, Graham Cole OBE (PC Tony Stamp, The Bill)!

Quite a coup for the ralliers and a great opportunity to hear Graham's stories of performing car stunts on The Bill together with his exploits on the skid pan at Hendon when he was offered driver training by the Police.

Graham has always loved racing cars and was very interested to hear all about White Hat Rally! Read more about our 2013 event, Pieces of V8!

Tina Hobley (Chrissie Williams, Holby City)

Barnardo's Ambassador Tina Hobley sends a message to all White Hat Ralliers: “I hope everyone taking part in the White Hat Rally has a fantastic time! I wish I could join you as it looks amazing. I hope you blaze a trail for Barnardo’s and raise lots of money for a cause that’s very close to my heart”

Diana Moran - "The Green Goddess"

Diana Moran, also known as "The Green Goddess" as she hosted the popular exercise segment of BBC1's Breakfast Time programme in her trademark green leotard, put the teams through their paces at Brooklands. Hearing about our rally in support of ChildLine she was only too pleased to come and talk to the teams and join in the fun at Brooklands Motor Museum.

After lunch Diana had all the teams excersising in the paddock before taking an interest, and a ride, in some of our more unusual vehicles. It certainly created a lot of interest and helped to promote our charity fundraising event.
